Spanish Romance by gareth koch

The origins of Spanish Romance are shrouded in mystery. The earliest manuscript versions appear in the 19th century but authorship of the piece remains unknown. It is a musical mystery in the vein of the anonymous Greensleeves which adds to the universal appeal of the work.
The piece has featured in Hollywood movies such as Blood and Sand, and a version with lyrics was performed by singer Tom Jones. The main melody also appears in Gareth’s Rumba Latina where the catchy theme is incorporated into an upbeat Rumba. Gareth’s version of Spanish Romance was recorded in a remote and beautifully resonant chapel in the Austrian countryside.
