Quatilym by Gandavon

QUATILYM - (QUAT-1L4M)

Quatilym took two years to make. Many hours and much sweat and tears went into developing this prog rock, electro, symphonic and epic album with modern and retro atmospheres.
I stayed close to the sound of previous albums like 'The art and science of skipping stones', 'Listening for hope' and 'Beauty',but went much deeper into prog rock territory this time. There are similar ideas of meandering themes and lots of different instruments; drums, bells, percussion, guitars, clavs, synths, mellotron etc. and many atmospheric ambient/SFX details.
I also spent a lot of time working out rather natural drum tracks with electronic and acoustic elements.

This time I also had the help of another musician: guitarist Erik Bentum who not only came up with the title, but also supplied great guitar atmospheres. You can hear his bluesy shredding on many tracks.

The titles and artwork show some glimpses of the sci-fi world behind the music, and I will continue working on it and present a story -or perhaps stories?- later.
