I like this one as I was trying to write a piece in a Sigur Ros style and in a way I think it works. The title is about the disease Lupus, that I have, and it’s a pain in the butt, or the head really, in my case. Lupus referring to Lupine as in the wolf-like appearance a Lupus sufferer normally gets. I fortunately didn’t get the disease badly enough to get that look but, hell, looking like a wolf for a while might have been fun........The whistling came as an afterthought for the melody but it somehow gives the piece a plaintive feel, making you think of what might have been, if only....
Frock are on an ecstatic journey of listening, sharing and communicating. When Frock started rehearsing in 1995, their experimental instrumentation caused a stir, in what is now a common place combination - their use of Accordion in Australian jazz was pioneering, and when combined with Vibraphone and Guitar gave them their signature lush orchestral soundscapes.
Apogee is Frock's 7th album.
