the last christmas in kent
where the shackleton pub burned down
was the best christmas of my life
because i really had nothing to do
but lie around

the last summer up at my place
i swear to god i dug a trench in the mud
so we could lay the foundation of pipework
but aside from that i really did nothing
but work on 'us'

the last time i felt this sad
must've been when you cried on new year's
i was sat with my family eating sausages and beans
from a breakfast we bought at half-price in ikea

the last christmas in brisbane
where the pig 'n' grill pub closed up
was the last christmas of my life
because i don't want to make new memories
of this alone
