Inner Landscape by The Axolotl Project

The Axolotl Project was born during what was arguably the most difficult
period of our generation: the global pandemic. Although we're from Calabria, a region where it's challenging to develop jazz music projects, the group was formed through the collaboration of three musicians: Francesco Alampi, Paolo Ielo, and Pierluigi Carbone.
From the very beginning, our goal was to express a strong sense of musical freedom and to define it by harmoniously and solidly blending different musical influences. The songs on our album reflect this objective—a fusion of instinct and rationality.
The choice of the album title was not accidental. The axolotl is an animal
species at risk of extinction due to factors like pollution and habitat loss. The unique ability of this species is to regenerate and renew itself. This is why the group immediately adopted "The Axolotl Project" as a symbol of our musical identity, with a particular reference to jazz, a genre that constantly renews itself and adapts to different musical eras.
The lineup features Francesco Alampi (guitar/composer), Paolo Ielo (double bass/composer), and Pierluigi Carbone (drums). The album will be composed entirely of original songs with influences ranging from classic jazz to more contemporary sounds.
