Animals by Fraction

Animals is a concept album built on instinct, unpredictability, and sonic wildness. Composed using a highly improvisational approach, the album seeks to reconnect with a raw, animal-like instinct—stripping away rational structures in favor of impulse, texture, and sound as movement.

Crafted primarily with Reaktor 4, the work dives deep into a world of artificial sonic organisms: digital creatures that seem to breathe, struggle, or dissolve. The sound design embraces randomness and uncertainty, allowing glitches, drones, and fractured patterns to emerge naturally—like auditory impressions of life forms adapting or breaking down.

Rather than traditional tracks, Animals unfolds in 15 interconnected parts forming a single, evolving frame. Each part feeds into the next, shifting the emotional and textural landscape without ever fully settling—an organic process of transformation that resists categorization.

This is a listening experience that’s feral, exploratory, and strangely alive.
