Disco Way by New Sound Quartet

Four Flies presents the first digital version of Disco Way by the New Sound Quartet, an instrumental disco-funk album originally released on Italian label BAM in 1981. Composed by Oscar Rocchi, all tracks on the album are performed by the studio band otherwise known as Modern Sound Quartet, which worked exclusively on the library music productions of Italian publisher Minstrel between the late 1970s and early 1980s.

Led by Rocchi himself (on keyboards), the band features Luigi Cappellotto on bass, Andrea Surdi on drums, Ernesto Verardi on guitar, and - like in previous releases - special guest Hugo Heredia on saxophone and flute.
Disco Way is especially notable for its electronic influences, which blend seamlessly with bass, electric guitars, synthesizers, keyboards and vibrant woodwinds, resulting in a unique synergy between the carefree spirit of disco and the elegance of jazz-funk. From the irresistible rhythm of “Lights” to the lively energy of “Old Fashion” and the cosmic funk of “Kinky Club”, Disco Way offers a sophisticated approach to 1980s Italian disco, with deep basslines and infectious grooves creating a fresh and bubbly atmosphere that brims with positive vibes.
