I hear the clock a-tickin'
as time keeps reminding me
the icicles are dripping
Lady Spring starts warming the heart of
Old Man Winter and he sets the water free
how I wish I was just a drop of
ice coming back to life
just goin' the way gravity takes me
and never thinking twice
oh, wouldn't that be nice

I hear a hopeful kind of calling
the birds are comin' back around
the frozen frogs are thawing
they said good night to winter's bite
now they come back to life
and pop their heads out of the ground
you know I've been feelin' so blue
that life's been looking gray
but now the world's painting itself in color
and there ain't a thing these blues can say
they belong to yesterday
