“CILAN:” Inspired by each and every modern day “Joan of Arc,” by the freedom fighters who resist oppression of all kinds at great cost. Inspired by the badass matriarchs whose names are both known and unknown to history. Inspired by the strong women in my own life, like my mother, who have overcome the odds and the assholes. Finally, inspired by the P@lestini@n spirit of resistance in the face of the great evil visited upon them…For the many faces and hopeful messages from the hearts of the little ones I will never forget.
“CILAN” is short for “Can I look Away Now,” and I never will…look away, as much as I want to sometimes.
