Somewhere Else by Fiona Tozer
This album, caught between my previous life as a folk singer, and my ventures into classical music, while moonlighting as guitarist with a celtic band brought to mind the A.A. Milne poem:
Halfway down the stairs
is a stair
where i sit.
there isn't any
other stair
quite like

i'm not at the bottom,
i'm not at the top;
so this is the stair
where

stop.

Isn't up
And it isn't down.
It isn't in the nursery,

I started out as a self-taught guitarist/singer-songwriter. Since settling in Durban, I have played solo and with various bands, releasing several albums of original songs. I studied for a masters degree in composition, which widened my horizons and allowed me to compose internationally for different instruments. I continue to write and perform with my current project, Quark.
