I know Tarique and SK through a mutual friend, Vally. In the summer of 2022 we were working in the studio when they came by to hang out and see what we were up to. I challenged them to write and record something on the spot, because I like playing devil’s advocate and, honestly, why the fuck not...
After that, they started pulling up to the studio now and then. Somewhere along the way, “now and then” turned into once or a few times a week, even though they both work a lot. They still made the time, and that’s how this record came into existence.
The EP is about isolating yourself from your surroundings, protecting yourself during cold days, and learning to appreciate the worst moments. It’s also about recognizing where you came from, because without those days, the better ones wouldn’t mean much.
