Dawn Treader, already known for employing light post-rock touches alongside impassioned furious blast beats breaks new ground with his newest release “Bloom & Decay”. From its first moments, the album plays with shade, opening on an elongated suspended passage which releases into a physically imposing and jagged riff. The concept of resolving from more ephemeral sounds into heavy, tangible passages becomes the center through which the record can cycle between the dichotomies of sound and emotion. “Cycles of life and death, grief and glory, hope and melancholy” are the crux of the record in the artist's own words.
