In their collaborative release “Origin EP,” Fetus and Dayzero, both artists who have built their careers around Dubstep and Drum’n Bass, explore a broader musical spectrum that transcends genre boundaries. In recent years, the duo has developed a unique sound that blends diverse influences, earning strong support from DJs and listeners around the world.
Having deepened their friendship over many years, the two finally completed this project as a reflection of their “current position and vision for the future.”
The lead track, “Origin,” is a high-speed post–bass music piece at 160 BPM. With cascading basslines and ethereal vocals that shake the dance floor, the track integrates elements of JUKE and Footwork, resulting in a dance floor–ready killer tune.
“Time Machine” channels the bouncy grooves reminiscent of Dembow and UK bass, with a three-dimensional low end that evokes the raw sonic energy cultivated in nightclubs, a track that captures the intimate euphoria of a closed dance floor.
“Hydrograph” is a deep tune that gradually draws the listener into a hypnotic groove. Lush, atmospheric pads envelop the space while the gently swaying bassline and tight breakbeats create a mesmerizing flow.
In addition, the EP features solo tracks from both artists, each vividly expressing their individual styles. The result is a project packed with the chemical reactions born from their collaboration, boldly intersecting the sounds they’ve developed over the years with fresh, forward-thinking approaches.
