Floral Pedal by Favorite Haunts

this album was recorded in the winter of 2025. after acquiring a floral loop pedal that was covered in a thin layer of dust (magic) and weighs as much as a brick, i started recording little vignettes of the forest creature's orchestra and their glowing miniature symphonies that escaped from my amplifier. i was thinking a lot about childhood, playfulness, coffee&tea, ghosts, branches, bugs, ballet, folklore, and the innocence of animals, as my fingers did somersaults && made cat's cradles out of my guitar strings.

all songs on this album, with the exception of "mystery spot / enchanted" were written on my acoustic guitar in a strange EBC#F#G# five string tuning that I stumbled upon while tuning my guitar to random notes until a tuning felt cohesive and colorful. I wanted the tuning to sound like a dark green color. I wanted the tuning to sound like a horizon, a treeline, a wall of vines, a courtyard, or a view of a city at night.

this album is dedicated to David Lynch, thank you for teaching me the importance of ideas, curiosity, and embracing beauty in everything. the first track i wrote for this album "thru the woods" was recorded the day he passed away
