Musician, producer and filmmaker Fanon Hill has released the single “Africa, Ohio” from his Soul City Cleveland Original Motion Picture Soundtrack.

Written, arranged and produced by Hill, “Africa, Ohio” features legendary Cleveland, Ohio vibraphonist Cecil W. Rucker, Jr. and the vocals of East Cleveland, Ohio native Navasha Daya.

“Africa, Ohio” pays homage to Ohio’s Underground Railroad system which had routes and exit points along Lake Erie. Africa, Ohio is an unincorporated community located in Orange Township of southern Delaware County, Ohio and is thought to be the only town in the world named after the Underground Railroad.

“Africa, Ohio” is the second offering from the Soul City Cleveland Original Motion Picture Soundtrack for the documentary of the same name that celebrates unheralded elder Black musicians and figures in Cleveland, Ohio’s entertainment community.
