scarlett m., alias clusterfunk, is back on its return trip to fakenumberland with a brand new album for you, called forestry.
it's a drum and bass album so lush, we can't just call it drum and bass-- drum and PLANTS is a cooler term.
her previous album clstrfnk! was a favorite of fnl's 2024 lineup, and we're proud to say that this is a step up.
the palette here is a little more light-and-airy, with the focus tuned to crisper sounds and breezy pads.
birthright, for one, exemplifies this and signifies scarlett's most melodic tunes thus far.
do not fret for a lack of controlled chaos in the drums department, either: forestry goes just as heavy on the snares and cymbals.
just listen to hustler; i love how those crashes and chopped-up synths go together!
true to its name, a botanical theme is central to forestry's very *nature* as well.
we have always adored electronic music that evokes very much non-electronic elements at this label, at which this LP succeeds greatly. a somewhat rigid styled album that perfectly suits the free flow of a woodland stroll.
these latest tracks of scarlett's make its best work up to now, and i don't say that lightly. this spirited album may very well leave you in awe, and follow you on all your nature walks, whatever the season.
