Sleep from Berrying Ground by Factory

The music for Sleep was originally written on piano and acoustic guitar, and the core lyrics and structure are from an early collaboration with singer and lyricist Roger Cleary. The Berrying Ground version of Sleep expands on the original lyric and concept and creates a rich and textured song about a homeless man who is hiding in plain site of the world - unseen and unheard, and barricaded by paper and blankets. We see the man initially retreating from the world but then battling his demons and facing the world once again, finding new strength and determination. Whilst mellow and melancholic, the song ends with a sense of triumph.

Sleep was recorded in Australia, Hong Kong, Canada, Venezuela and Austria, and mixed at Crood Studios Melbourne and Crood Studios Hong Kong.
