Forbidden Majesties from Apocrypha by Exiled Hope
I rerecorded the guitar parts for this song multiple times before I was finally happy with them. This was the first time I experimented with a more rhythmic playing style, and while it took some getting used to, it finally feels natural. “Forbidden Majesties” is both atmospheric and intense, and briefly dips into a soft cinematic style reminiscent of “Deathslayer” during the bridge. It ties together all the different threads, from heavier styles to lighter styles, that I’ve woven throughout the album and feels like a natural conclusion, leaving the door open for further stylistic exploration.
