Deathslayer from Apocrypha by Exiled Hope
This song was very heavily influenced by Dimmu Borgir and Theatre Of Tragedy, with the “beauty-and-the-beast” vocal style that I use. As you may have figured out by now, I love contrast, so I alternate between growls and lighter choral layers on this song. The heavy layering made this song very difficult to record, but the final result strikes a nice balance between aggression and elegance. The cinematic synth progression in the first and last sections of the song were the most fun parts to record; instrumentally, this might be my favorite song on the album.
