Together on record, they seem to possess a certain ability to attract any and all kinds of musical styles and approaches. Like a magnet, Excavacations draw in aural abstraction and pop-rock sensibilities simultaneously, the result being a kind of avant-pop in which old rules are destroyed and the new rules never quite make it to paper.
