Collected Tapes by Evan Pincus
Was a bit bored of the lack of spontaneity possible in my usual hyperfocused laptop-locked routine of composition, and was also accumulating gear that I wasn't really using in said routine of composition. So I set out on a mission to put all that gear (an Elektron Digitakt! A Kawai K1r! An Ensoniq ESQ-M! A Casio FZ-1! An ever-expanding Eurorack modular system!) in one place and set up a good old-fashioned home studio, challenging myself to utilize a primarily jam-oriented workflow, putting my old Tascam 4-track Portastudio through its paces and generally avoiding getting too locked in to a single track. So here's a bunch of stuff, I guess is the point. These are chunks of raw, unedited weirdness from the messiest corner of my living room. They're completely uncensored, completely impromptu, completely incoherent, and don't quite fit together. Consider this a teaser for more to come.
