23 by Eumig

Eumig is the ambient electronic noise project of artist Nick Dawson and 23 is his sixth release under the Eumig name. 23 is an exploration of quickfire ideas, conceived by Alastair Johnson (Alien) in which 23 tracks are completed in 23 minutes.

"For this recording I needed to rethink my approach, my releases to date have featured longer and longer tracks. In fact my most recent outing comprised 4 tracks across nearly 3 hours. So to compress my ideas into such a claustrophobic space was a really interesting challenge."

The resulting album lays out a rapid turnaround of coalescing tones, textural meditations and pulsing polyrhythms. Just as one idea forms, the emphasis shifts and another idea is presented.
