aux percussion jams turned into full songs — drum kit, guitars, synths, and many vocal harmonies.

These songs were started before in May of this year before the songs for the last album were written.

Most of these were jams that started with auxiliary percussion and a few chords which evolved slowly into the songs here. The jams were inspired by heavily by communal music making (shoutout to the Whale Tail drum circle in New London.) Lots of auxiliary percussion was used to recreate that busy and chaotic vibe of a bunch of musicians playing together. Lots scratch guitar tracks, first takes, timing mistakes and wrong notes but they all add to the charm.

These songs are more instrumentally driven rather than the last set so the lyrics were mostly based on the feelings from the jams.
