I put the pieces away
A puzzle left on display
No point in keeping it any longer

I took the instruments down
It’s such nostalgic sound
No point in playing them any longer

All our fossils gather dust in empty rooms
While the memories slumber softly in their tombs
I can see that although you’re enough for me
I’m not enough for you

I tore the paintings to shreds
Their faces stuck in my head
Can’t stand to study them any longer
Your inspiration is dead

I threw the poems aside
The verses misting my eyes
Can’t stand to stare at them any longer
Your words are wonderful lies

Locked our fossils up in some forgotten room
