In a place long forgotten
I washed ashore
Insatiably curious
Or was I just bored
Old photographs hanging on trees
Old poems are droplets on leaves
Like my old lovers who lie there in the shade
I thought this place would never change
But something is different
I noticed it when a feeling arose
subtle as dust settling
One part nostalgia two parts good grief
Free from a few old stories I used to believe
A few moments so tender the air smells sweet
