Skyfold by Elite Force

Skyfold arrived at a moment when I was craving something brighter. As Elite Force I’ve often lived in darker, heavier spaces, but this idea came through with a really open and uplifting feel. The percussion still has that familiar swing to it, but the whole thing leans toward lightness, almost like it wants to rise rather than push. It felt good to follow that instinct and let the track breathe in a more positive way than people might expect from the Elite Force catalogue.

Once the original was finished, I kept hearing a different emotional shape to it. There was another version hiding underneath the surface, something more expansive and euphoric, almost like a closing track at the end of a long night when everything lands in the right place. That became the Simon Shackleton remix. It takes the same melodic threads but stretches them into something deeper and more cinematic, with a low, warm pulse running through it and a sense of release that builds gradually.

Putting both versions out together made sense because they come from the same spark. They’re just two different ways of expressing the same feeling, one with that skybound Elite Force energy and one with the more emotional, widescreen touch I’ve been exploring in my solo work.
