Last Christmas by Eli Paperboy Reed

Eli Paperboy Reed delivers two Christmas songs just in time for the holidays. The first is a holiday classic, Wham!’s “Last Christmas,” that Eli put his soulful spin on with big band-style horns and an arrangement that makes it sound like it was recorded two-decades before the original 1984 version of the song. The “B-side” is an original song called, “Merry Christmas To Me,” which Eli co-wrote with Ryan Spraker on a hot July day, while on tour in Portugal and both were feeling homesick. The deeply soulful song conjures the melancholy feeling of being alone at Christmas, reflecting on a troubling year being left behind, with a bit of hope that, “next year will be better.”
