Oltremare from Oltremare by Elijax

I composed Oltremare as soon as I was able to go back to my studio at the ending of the first Italian lockdown, on 4 June 2020, after four months of full silence. I composed fastly and following my musical instinct. Once the music was finished, I produced the video which is based on an electronic elaboration of some footage recorded on the Mediterranean Sea. Listening back to Oltremare after a few months of its conception, I realize how much this is not a piece of recovered freedom, on the contrary it appears as a sea of liquid metal, of melt iron and full of uncertainty.

Dr Elia Andrea Corazza (aka Elijax) is a conductor, composer, pianist and musicologist. He holds a Ph.D. in musicology and master’s degrees in pianoforte, conducting and composition. He studied conducting in Fiesole and Pescara (Italy), and at the Tanglewood Music Center (Lenox, MA, U.S.A.)
