Collected Works by Eleventh Hour Confession

Eleventh Hour Confession was from Baltimore, Md., and existed from early 1997 to late June 1998. During that time we played a bunch of crazy shows, recorded a few things and went on tour - twice.

We even broke up on tour. The band played it's last show in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. At the time, we were roughly a month into a planned two-and-a-half month tour.

This represents the collected works of the band. There should be more, but songs written toward the later part of the band's existence were never recorded.

There was talk about regrouping just to record those remaining songs for posterity and personal collections/ history, but things never came together. This was the '90s, long before halfway decent digital recordings could be made fairly easily in a practice space setting.

TRACKS 1 and 2 were recorded live at WMUC, in College Park, Md., May 10, 1998. The song that was "so simple, yet we couldn't play it," was "Stitch That," by Chumbawamba, which we would sometimes cover. Also playing that show were the bands Flag Fallen and Mendoza.

TRACKS 3 and 4 were recorded at a show in Belair, Md., Dec. 6, 1997, for a live compilation record. Also playing that show, and on the comp, were Underprivileged Nation, Huasipungo, A-Political, Objection to Oppression, Broken, and Violent Society.

TRACKS 5 through 9 were recorded and mixed on Jan.1, 1998. These recordings were part of the only item the band put out - a six song cassette. These tracks don't sound as good as they could. The originals were output to a DAT and a standard cassette tape. That cassette tape was then used to dub the recordings onto other cassettes. These recordings here were from one of those secondary dubbed cassettes, which was played quite a bit and subjected to all sorts of other abuse before being used to digitize the songs years later.

After the band split up, we all continued with other musical projects and played in bands including Press Gang, The Allied War Effort, Fields of Shit, FEMA (EO 12127), Tomason and numerous others too fleeting to be noteworthy. Even the ones mentioned above aren't all that noteworthy outside local circles.

We all also continued on in other endeavors.

One of us opened a bike shop (pedals, not vroom, vroom). Another continued making handcrafted jewelry from stained glass and other items. One is a documentary/ portrait photographer and one of us is a writer and screen printer involved in various activist causes.

Sadly, one of us also passed away at age 40 after a long cancer fight.
