The sun has drowned in crimson light,
The city hums, yet feels contrite.
I walk along as shadows seep,
The silent hours mine to keep.

Faint echoes of a distant tune,
A requiem beneath the moon.
The weary sigh, the world decays,
Yet in the dark, I slip away.

Nightfall calls, and I am free,
No chains, no weight, no misery.
I leave behind the burning glare,
And breathe beneath the starlit air.

Concrete graves and neon lies,
A hollow dream behind my eyes.
But far beyond where cold winds rise,
The cosmos sings, the silence sighs.

No voices haunt, no hands remain,
No fleeting ghosts, no cloying pain.
A boundless sky, a velvet sea,
At last, the night belongs to me.

So take the day, its fire spent,
Its hollow words, its discontent.
For in the dark, I find release—
A solemn breath, a fleeting peace.
