It is said that nature abhors a vacuum.
I don't know about that, but I do know one thing -
Nature - she who is ever evolving - abhors stasis. Motion is inevitable. It is the very essence of life to flow, flow to destinations unknown.
This album is really all about water, the softest of elements that even the most implacable things cannot withstand; water in its various forms - vapor, liquid and solid.
The three main movements are:
Clouds
"I wandered, lonely as a cloud." Why would a cloud be lonely? Is it sad to be alone in the sky, quietly casting shadows on all those "golden daffodils, tossing their heads in sprightly dance"?
Water
We all begin life in chthonic innocence, like a mountain stream emerging from below a glacier, swirling down through wooded canyons and cascading falls. If we are lucky, we will find ourselves in our little boats, shooting the oncoming rapids with agility and intention. And what lies beyond?
Tundra
A place frozen in time. Sometimes we discover an ancient traveler frozen with it.
It is the very essence of life to flow, flow to destinations unknown.
The other four movements, or Motions are each part incantation, part dance:
Children sing with ancient voices, lying in the snow. There they enact an age-old ritual. They appear to be dancing, and when they rise they leave behind them dark glittering shapes - mysterious winged creatures...
Scintillating rhythmic grooves, calm minimalist introspection and future primitive invocations. Imaginative, mystical and life affirming music for your daily soundtrack.
