A friend rolled up on someone darting tree to tree
In a pretty well-off neighborhood maybe ‘bout a half-mile from me
Shined his flashlight at the forest just in time to see
The girl put a gun into her own mouth and pull the trigger

He broke down at the sight of her eyes
Still intact

As her body decayed around her

The shadows started creeping in as twilight seeped
Over the grove now cordoned off by police tape and left a stoplight scene
A shudder slowly passed through the crowd that beat out
Any doctors, any funeraries, any hope, or any of her family

Not whole
