Endless Snowfield by The Quietist

Music has always been my passion - electronic and ambient music especially as it emerged as I was growing up.
Early influences were Jean Michel Jarre, Kraftwerk and Tangerine Dream which I would listen to on a constant rotation on headphones, usually in the dark.
I always believed that music should have your full attention and will repay you by enriching your appreciation.
Later influences include the Warp and FAX labels and beyond that, artists such as Tetsu Inoue, Susumu Yokota and Waki.
Always in the background were the great classical composers that my dad listened to.
I have a number of styles, from the short and playful to longer more atmospheric pieces and soundscapes

I would like to dedicate this album to my dad as he gave me, among many things, my love for music.

音楽は常に私の情熱の対象であり続けてきました。特に成長の過程で出会った「電子音楽」と「アンビエント音楽」には特別な思い入れがあります。
最初に影響を受けたのはジャン・ミッシェル・ジャール、クラフトワーク、タンジェリン・ドリームで、これらの音楽をヘッドフォンで、部屋を暗くして繰り返し聴きました。
私は音楽というものは、全神経を集中して聴くべきものであり、そうすれば必ず報われるし、豊かな鑑賞が出来るといつも信じていました。
その後WARPやFAXといったレーベルに出会い、そしてその先にテツ・イノウエ、ヨコタススム、ワキなどのアーティストが連なっていました。
私の背景には、いつも父が聴いていた偉大なクラシックの作曲家たちがいます。
私の作品にはいろいろなスタイルがあります。短くて遊び心のあるものから、もっと長めで雰囲気のある作品や、サウンドスケープなど。

このアルバムを父に捧げたいと思います。父は世の中にあるいろいろなことの中から、「音楽への愛」を私に与えてくれたからです。
