Patience LP by Sun Sone

Patience is the first release by producer Sun Sone, out on Earthly Measures in 2025. The title refers to the length it took to write it, spanning a total of 10 years of honing in his production skills, ready to finally release this beautiful piece of work to the world.

Obsessed with the L.A beat scene and the artists that stemmed from - Flying Lotus, Clap Clap! Knxwledge, Jai Paul, Kutmah, Photay. There's also the DNA of Jon Hopkins, James Blake, and Ryuichi Sakamoto in there. He spent some time DJing with a collective called 'Me Gusta', which introduced him to incredible music from all around the world trying to work in elements of different cultures into his sound, trying to make it sound familiar but unusual.

‘I was real perfectionist. Ultimately, I was not patient with myself - when you're patient with yourself, you avoid self-criticism, allow yourself to make mistakes, and understand that it's ok to not have everything figured out immediately.
It took 10 years to figure this out. I was patient.'

Some tracks are about particular emotions. Some are about being in a space which is not quite then, but not yet now. Some tracks are just for fun, for the sake of experimenting with sounds and seeing what happens. I like polyrhythms a lot, so I’m usually starting from there, building up interesting patterns and then seeing how I can warp and mutate instrumental parts around those beats. I try to find a nice little spot between being a bit weird and experimental but also having a groove.’

This will be the first time Sun Sone has ignored that inner perfectionist who says nothing is ever good enough.
