Time Forest by d york
The inspiration for this album started when Bitwig recently added a Rhodes piano loop collection. Of course, there is nothing that remotely sounds like a Rhodes in these tracks. The loops have been stretched and otherwise thoroughly manipulated. Modular synth and recent field recordings from my screened in porch round out the sound palette.
The mood of this album is late at night and bleary eyed with your mind refusing to shut down. However, I have fallen asleep listening to these tracks over the last couple of weeks so this album might be a remedy. The track titles came from presets from some recently acquired aberrant dsp plugins. The names seemed to fit the tracks perfectly, which rarely happens.
I have never released an album on the first day of the year. Nevertheless, I am happy with how this one turned out and thought, why not!
