- “See, man,...You have got to understand. People donʼt understand it when...”
- “Enough! Please,...The world wonʼt understand this, you donʼt understand that; you think weʼre all slackers or what?”
- “Noo! Iʼve got to finish this stuff someday. There are a load of fulfilling projects in my head, and on top of that thereʼs my work in mind. My black, yellow, magenta, and cyan always in mind. Theyʼre always right there too, and itʼs pushing me tight, you know?”
- “Fine. As long as you just donʼt sit there doing useless crosswords...”
- “At all. I fucking despise them.”
- “Weʼll go out in any case. Weʼll split away around ten. “
- “Itʼs all right. Not another wasted weekend for me. After I get everything straightened out Iʼll need to unwind too, but for now Iʼd rather stay home with my wife and get my things done.”
- “Goodbye, then...Iʼm off to the bar. The club is open.”

Original liner notes: "Monotones was recorded by Dynamo Stairs, with the help of Alessandro Varotto on drums and Paolo Pierini on guitar solos. No one else except my parents (for the financial part) helped in the making of this album. But it doesn't really matter. It's not like the album is going to be heard. Besides, the record industry is awful. So, what's the point in making records that no one will ever listen to? Well, the fun, I suppose. Aside from the earthquake, the girlfriend leaving and long work hours before every session, making music is indeed positive therapy, not just for the glory of getting these tracks down. I hope at least all of this will be worth something to me in the years to come. Listen on."
