Stray by Waltz
For his debut EP 'Stray' on Self Expression, Waltz deviates from the standard.
In his journey for self expression he re-discovered his love for the 90s rave scene.
The tracks on ‘Stray’ follow the direct meaning of the word;
“to deviate from the direct course, or go beyond the proper limits”,
in which Waltz sends a message that he does not want to move along the intended route.
Stray kicks off with ‘Just A Shadow’ a mysterious, hypnotizing track that gets you spellbound.
‘Hollandias’ is a nod to the well-beloved 90s' techno scene, a minimalistic rolling track that perfectly fits the dark, sweaty rooms of the underground scene.
The title track 'Stray' is a captivating, loopy, dub track that keeps you moving.
For the closing track 'DM23', Waltz decided to lose all breaks, increase the tempo, and go all in.
A classic, euphoric, minimalistic techno track with a retro vibe.
Stray is the perfect blend of minimalism, groove, and hypnotism.
We're stoked to have published this record on Self Expression.
