black birds they used to sing
but i haven’t heard a single thing
blond boy in the mirror
red shirt and kids filled with terror

yes i hallucinate it kinda sucks but
it’s not the worst thing
please don’t make me out to be
someone to hate and something scary
i have not hurt anyone
but you always hurt when u make fun

shadows creep around my room
but i also see flowers bloom
way before they’re supposed to
way before you ever could, oo
i wouldn’t say i am magic
but i know it’s not always bad
i am not my mental illness
but when i am it’s ‘cause i’m glad

my music means so much to me
and the things i see are sometimes why i sing
take this confusion, make it art
use it to tape up your heart

yellow eyes and a pink nose
the shower sprays like a water hose
that was a really ugly house
there the shadows were always out
and there the ghost would stomp their feet
crazy lady wasn’t as crazy as me

i finally found an outlet to plug in my night light
i’m so glad that they let me hide from the scary sights
but like i said, they’re not always bad
sometimes i can get stuck in my head had
had the neighbor let me be
had the people stayed within me

i’m either out of it or stuck in myself
but there are some ways to escape this hell
and to be stuck here doesn’t make me
a demon with my cracking feet
to be stuck here it only means
it’s harder to focus and to be only me

so to be my friend don’t run away
tell me that you’ll try to stay
tell me that you’re here for today
help me know that i have somewhere to go
help me know it’s okay to glow
because sometimes my skin will scream
i’ll see it’s light and it’ll turn green
but like i said this isn’t really bad
it’s just another vision i’ve had
