Berlin based artist Laura Mars creates dark and haunting musical soundscapes utilising her own voice along with synthesised voices, found sounds and AI generated speech.

Broken Doll sees Laura return to Dustopian Frequencies with a set of nine nightmarish sonic collages. Whispering voices and ethereal chants ebb and flow in the dense texture. Fragmented and disjointed snippets of speech seem to offer explanations and create confusion in equal measures. Beautiful sentiments are placed over ominous low droning winds and hauntingly beautiful vocal textures are disrupted by jarring statements that seem to linger in your mind as the sense of trepidation intensifies. It’s an unsettling yet strangely beautiful album that creates atmospheres so palpable you might find yourself looking over your shoulder as you listen. Take a deep breath….
