Olly's Song from Urban Navigators by duck pond sailors

The Duck Pond Sailors sprang to life following a project run by Chris called The Secret Shore. It revolved around creating a Community Choir that taught us local folk songs and shanties. Following this incredible experience Jonny and I wanted to create a smaller shanty group. Soon Chris, Jonny, Olly, Graham and I were meeting in pubs and exploring the joy of singing and drinking together. Olly was Chris and Ann's son, Samuel's brother and Otis' friend. On 14th Feb 2017 just two days before his 23rd Birthday we lost Olly to suicide. This was a devastating shock to all who knew him and the hole left behind will never be filled. What we can do is work to raise awareness and try to prevent any more of our amazing young people losing their lives to suicide. This song is a tribute not only to Olly but also to all the great work being carried out by Olly's Future. We are a group of lads that learn and sing traditional sea shanties and the odd Sussex folk song.
We often sing them whilst drinking in local ale houses and have no aim other than singing well and drinking better.
We are based on the South Coast of England where the sun shines and the beards hang low.
