Fugitive Reality by Enhance
From the far reaches of Siberia, the stark and unforgiving environ has produced a champion of ominous minimalism. Dubs Alive Records is proud to present the deep, dark and intense sounds of Enhance with his label debut EP, Fugitive Reality. Rising like a Phoenix from the flames of Hell itself, this young, driven artist is a key player in the forward thinking Bass Music community of central Russia, and is sure to soon be burning up sound systems worldwide.
Title track “Fugitive Reality” rips us from the comfort of daily life and leaves us deep within the mind of Enhance. Alien vocal synths, slashing mid basses and intelligent breaks send us running from the unsettling howls as the aggressively dark tone of this EP is decidedly set.
The introspection of “Solitary Torments” breeds a purist and minimal production, nodding to sound system culture with its clean and punchy production techniques. After an utterly nasty drop, wide open drums and tambourine drive this classic Dubstep smasher, peaking with conga drums responding to the calls of ancient ghosts whispering in you ear.
Searching for new paths of reconciliation, “Abstract Thinking” discovers a uniquely dark subwise bounce and relentless drive. Huge, Grimey rhythms are blended with face punching Broken Beat and Dancehall nuances, balanced by haunting melodies and snarling basses.
“Backyard Massacre” evokes the imagery of our deepest fears as it abounds in atmospherically dark synthesis and hard hitting sub bass. Rolling hats and percussion drive the rhythmic pulse as Enhance’s signature mid bass growls and swells through the despair of this nightmarish excursion.
Avenging the fallen souls of the massacre, “Testament of Shaman” blends aggressive rhythms and percussion with introspectively meditative melodies hailing to the Gods of eternal damnation. This dark blender seeks both retribution and repentance only to be found in the depths of the sub stacks.
The flip side remix of Backyard Massacre is delivered by the Dubs Alive label bosses Dubsworth & Tapa. Diverging to a more solemn plane of existence, the remix finds common ground between the deeply minimal, purist and dubwise ideals. Balancing Dubstep production with live performance, this remix seamlessly integrates the digital and analog experience - representing the core essence of Dubs Alive Records.
