Paprika/Standoff by Drumheller
Fast-rising percussion purveyor Drumheller joins Funky Adjacent with the Paprika/Standoff EP. The Glaswegian producer has rapidly become known for his club-ready drum tools following his debut release on Jamz Supernova’s Future Bounce in 2021, and further releases on respected labels such as Jerome and Club Djembe.
‘Paprika/Standoff’ sees Drumheller take inspiration from world club genres to create two punishing cuts for peak time.
‘Standoff’ fuses a thumping kick, rumbling sub bass, marching snare drums, bongos and bleeps, to create a punchy industrial heater that isn’t lacking in groove. On ‘Paprika’, elements of gqom and amapiano meet UK techno, as rhythmic chanting is combined with rolling log drums, a bouncing bassline, half-time breakdowns and a smattering of breakbeats.
Drumheller is a DJ and producer putting his stamp on global club music, creating tracks filled with infectious grooves, potent percussion and roaring bass. His past releases have been supported by notable DJs including Scratcha DVA, Martha, Nightwave, Martelo and Half Queen.
