Portal by DREMNES

Portal is a groovy techno track with an unusual breakdown and a middle part which is aimed at taking dancers and listeners to a different dimension.

The main groove of the track is broken by a central part with a diverse mood, more thoughtful and hypnotic compared to the other.
In my vision, this special part is a huge break whose principle is, somehow, to take people dancing and listening to it in a state of reflection and awareness by “entering” in a new sound scenario, were they could eventually resonate. That's why “Portal”.
After a brief orchestral section the original part returns, taking the listeners back to the groove, more relieved.

It has been a new approach on composition, I was trying to experiment by detaching from my usual way of producing, and this track is the result of such exploration.
From recording to mastering it wasn’t an easy process, but at the same time was a meaningful one, that made me think about the importance of taking breaks from the standard approaches in order to give space to new perspectives, not only in music but also (and often) in daily life.
