Alkatraz aka JF Cooper is a young rapper from the DMV(Washington, D.C.) area with his sights set on bringing REAL hip-hop back to the rap game. He has a smooth flow with an advanced word play and vocabulary. Many compare his lyrical ability to some of the greats of rap and he has been described as "a combination of Lupe Fiasco and Jay-Z with the D.C. swagger of Wale..." Once you hear his infectious sound it does not take longer than one verse of his music to recognize his talent and ability. He takes the current paradigm of rap and thinks outside it while still giving fans what they they love about hip-hop. Not only is Alkatraz a rapper's rapper, he is an artist first. Alkatraz truly makes music that all can enjoy.
