Atlas is the fruit of me relearning who I am as an Indigenous Amazigh woman. It represents years of struggling to reclaim my identity and reconnect with roots erased by colonialism and neocolonialism. This is a difficult but necessary confrontation—these times call for deep reflection on who we are, individually and collectively.

Sitti Fadma, my grandmother—may her soul rest in peace—was a single mother of six, living alone in the Atlas Mountains. After my grandfather died, she raised six children on her own, enduring harsh isolation and extreme conditions. Visiting her village as a child took four hours of difficult travel from Marrakech City.
Despite all the hardships I currently face, I recognize my relative privilege compared to many single mothers in the Atlas, who bear similar burdens.

Atlas is more than a release; it’s a collaboration between past, present, and future. The cover art was created by Solar, transformed from a photograph of five trans women taken by a trans woman—an intersectional symbol of womanhood beyond essentialism.

Drama Drama (Fadoua Rasmouki) is Morocco’s first resident female DJ/Producer and the founder of Dreamatic Records. A multi-genre artist skilled in both analog and digital music production, she is also an accomplished singer/songwriter, composer, and curator. Passionate about innovation, she leads and mentors within the music industry.
