Wenatchee from Maybe by Donut Larsen

didn't mean to wind up in Wenatchee
but here i am, and thank the lord indeed
i lost my accoutrements in Spokane,
but this town gave me everything i need

now it's back down to the tracks
to catch a westbound back
i'm glad i stuck around a couple days

it could rain all day and it won't rain on my parade

sometimes it's freezing cold,
sometimes it's steaming hot,
sometimes everything you got is soaking wet
sometimes i meant to ride this train to Birmingham
but we were sleeping now Atlanta's next

oh, i could start a fire, i can find some shade
my clothes will dry and i'll find cigarettes
this town don't seem to like me, don't think i'll be back down
but that doesn't have to ruin getting out

the bottom of the hill here in Seattle
may just as well be down in Tennessee
i'd make way more money out in Texas,
but money ain't the only thing i need

and there ain't know way in hell i'd settle down here in Chehalis
some places aren't as bad as people say
