Dawn finds us just where the night let us go
A standstill on slippery ground
One step in any direction would break this
Monotonous rhythm we found
Aimlessly strutting and spouting your lies
And bending us all to your will. But
the red flags are no longer folded;
The dissidents no longer still.

All of the voices I carry within
Are telling me never to worry
But this confrontation is pushing me into the red

You're breaking bread, but your teeth are broken
you're spelling out all the words unspoken
a lullaby for a rage awoken
A song of rage and impotent thunder
a word of death that'll rend asunder
not a thing, and I'm coming to find that

I'm tired of flying in circles
'cause I need both my feet on the ground
I never could follow a prophet
who lost all the marbles we thought they had found
All of the feelings I carry within
are pointing to doors so uncertain
but this situation's becoming a game to survive

Just as you hammer your anchors deep into the ground
Bedrock is splitting below you, even the
planet you stand on don't want you around
You may cry havoc, but fact is you're losing control
Epitaphs are for the honored, but
there are none who would praise what remains of your soul
