Swamp Rose is a traveling sound installation—part guided rest, part sensory experience—designed to hold space for deep listening, grief, and care. It blends guitar loops, field recordings from South Carolina, and ASMR techniques to invite stillness.
In 2025, I am bringing Swamp Rose into public greenspaces, queer gathering spaces, and private homes for immunocompromised folks who need a safe way to experience it.
At its heart, Swamp Rose is about boundaries. It is a 1:1 performance with a run time of approximately 7 minutes. Before beginning, listeners are invited to fill out a boundary map, noting where they are comfortable having a fresh rose, mist, or my hand hovering over their head, face, and shoulders. You may omit the additional sensory elements and simply listen. The swamp wants to meet you exactly where you are.
I offer in-call or masked experiences for folks who need to stay home. If there are other ways I can make this accessible, I’m open to hearing what might help.
