Gas Station by Florentino & Martyn Bootyspoon

Initially born from extensive digging sessions in early 2020 ‘Gas Station’ was made through the filter of Florentino’s obsession of New Yorks 90s Latin House movement, Brazilian Beat Bolha & the timeless Cajmere classic, the ‘Percolator’. Envisioned as a quick & simple club tool, a few years after its inception, ‘Florentino & Martyn Bootyspoon connected & the song gained an entirely new life.

The link between 🍁 & club music has long been documented, as has its quality of complimenting the economics of artists without a trust fund, to get by. After conversations around this & what a lot of the bubble like sounds reference on the beat, Bootyspoon laid down an immaculate vocal performance.

‘Gas Station’ is a club anthem for the stoners, dedicated to a love of different continuums of club music & the sometimes intrinsic link between the economics of 🍃 & choosing the path of being a club artist. In the words of Ruben Sam’s immortalised & repeatedly sampled words echoing through the history of Reggaeton “Donde estan los que fuman marijuana!?!”
