Ngarep E by Aryo Adhianto
‘Ngarep E’ by artist Aryo Adhianto is a study on automated rhythmic modulation and tonality shifts. Performed on digital synthesizers, these three pieces establish a sonic atmosphere that implies disjunction - as an exercise to create a conversational approach with the computer and depart from grid-based compositions.
The outcome of such an attempt is a rotation around the axes of programming and improvisation, resulting in generative sequences moving from one parameter to the next with minimal predetermined actions by the composer.

‘Ngarep E’ oleh seniman Aryo Adhianto adalah sebuah studi mengenai otomasi modulasi ritmis dan pergeseran tonal. Diolah menggunakan synthesizer digital, tiga karya ini membentuk atmosfir sonik yang bermain dengan laras - sebuah latihan untuk pendekatan yang lebih lentur pada proses komputasi dan melepas ketergantungan pada komposisi berbasis grid.
Hasil dari percobaan tersebut adalah sebuah rotasi bebas diantara sumbu bahasa programming dan improvisasi, kian menghasilkan rangkaian bunyi generatif yang bergerak dari satu parameter ke berikutnya dengan keterlibatan yang seminim mungkin dari komponis.
